Ondo Develops Tourism Master Plan
The Ondo State Government in its effort to boost its tourism
sector has set machinery in motion to develop a tourism master plan for the
state.
Speaking to our correspondent in Akure, the Commissioner for
Culture and Tourism, Mr. Deji Falae, said the master plan would cover all
tourism locations in the state.
Falae also said that it would provide sustainable management
and operational system, as well as modern marketing strategy for the tourism
sector of the economy.
The Commissioner said that the state government had engaged
the services of a tourism consultant from the United Kingdom to assess all
potential tourism locations throughout the state.
He said that the consultant would assist the state
government to repackage Oke-Idanre for enlistment on UNESCO World Heritage Site
Falae said that there was the need to get a consultant to
assist the state government to develop tourist sites in the state to the
standard that would attract international tourists.
He, however, assured the people of the state that the
Mimiko-led administration would continue to develop the tourism sector in order
to make the state an attractive tourists’ destination.
