Under-Development: Cleric Blames Past Leaders
A clergy man in Rivers State, Pastor Abraham Oba of
Christian Compass Mission (CCM) has attributed the underdevelopment of Nigeria
to lack of sincerity in the part of past leaders.
Speaking in an interview with news men shortly after his
thanksgiving service last Sunday at Okrika, Pastor Oba said that past Nigerian
leaders were stressing that this situation did not allow them to evolve
policies and programmes that translated into national development.
The clergyman who is also a director in the Niger Delta
Development Commission (NDDC) stressed the need for leaders to put the interest
of the nation above regional and ethnic interest.
He said that the
Christian Compass Mission has contributed so much towards the
enthronment of peace in Okrika.
Pastor Oba explained
that the thanksgiving service was to thank God for his ten years marriage, one
year anniversary of his daughter’s birthday and 26 years anniversary of his
wife’s birthday.
The clergyman underscored the need for the people of Okrika
and the entire nation to seek the face of God by giving their lives to Christ.
