Accident Claims Couple, 3 Others In Edo
No fewer than five persons, including a couple have been crushed to death by a commercial bus at the Benin-Auchi Expressway in Ekpoma, Edo State.
The couple, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Egbehi both staff of the Ambrose Alli University, AAU were said to be returning home after the day’s work; and were riding on their motorcycle when they were crushed by the speeding commercial bus as they attempted to cross the expressway.
Eye witnesses said the commercial bus also killed another girl and injured others who are currently receiving treatment at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.
The accident was said to be fatal as the commercial bus squeezed the motorcycle and destroyed caravans erected at the university main gate.
Sympathizers blamed the commercial bus driver, who was arrested by the police.
