Kebbi Airport Ready
The Sir Ahmadu Bello In
ternational Airport Kebbi State is ready to begin operations.
A six man delegation from the Nigerian Air Space Management Agency (NAMA), which inspected the airport, recently, expressed satisfaction with the hi-technical equipment at the facility.
The delegation inspected facilities such as the control lower and associated lighting systems runway, navigational facilities, communication and navigational equipment room and administrative offices.
Equipping of the airport was sequel to the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between NAMA and the Kebbi State government for the provision of air navigation services in the newly established airport.
The six man delegation was led by the General Manager, Chart Services, Mr Peter Akonti.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director, NAMA Mr Ibrahim Abdulsalam, has charged air traffic engineers to improve on their competence to ensure safety and efficiency in service delivery.
A statement by the General Manager, Public Affairs, Mr Supo Atobatele, in Abuja, quoted the NAMA boss to have said at a one-day seminar organized by the National Association of Air Traffic Engineers, that competence and efficiency would ensure safety in the aviation industry.
The workshop covered topics such as Air Navigation Infrastructures and Human Capital, Air Navigation Systems and safety, Enhancing competence, safety and Efficiency in air traffic engineering and was attended by stakeholders in the aviation sector.
