FAAN Assures Passengers Of Seamless Services
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has assured both local and international air travellers that the authority has made adequate arrangements to ensure seamless passenger facilitation at all its airports during the forthcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The agency said most of the airport terminals in the country had already been remodeled, making provision for the expansion and modernisation of facilities such as lounges, conveyors belts, check-in counters, toilets, airline offices among others.
“In addition, modern security and safety equipment such as x-ray, baggage and 3-D screening machines, CCTV and walk-through metal detectors have been installed at all the airports, aside from the provision of modern fire tenders, ambulances and security patrol vans,” the General Manager, Communications Mr Yakubu Dati said.
FAAN said all its relevant members of staff in the airport operations, aviation security and fire rescue and safety departments have also been kept on alert to ensure seamless operations throughout the festive periods.
“The authority however, wishes to encourage air travellers to complement these efforts by making early travel plans during this period” Dati advised.
He said passengers should book their flights early to avoid patronising touts and leave home early on the day they intend to travel so that they could conclude their check-in formalities well ahead of scheduled boarding times.
Mr Dati added that passengers should also avoid carrying-on items that are banned to avoid delays during facilitation formalities.
