LG Boss Lambasts Political Jobbers
The Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chief Cassidy Ikegbidi, has called on Rivers people to beware of political deceits, in the name of Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI) in the State.
Chief Ikegbidi alerted the people in the State yesterday at the meeting of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chietains and stakeholders in Ahoada Town, the headquarters of the Local Government.
He described top politicians behind the group as self-seeking garrison commanders aimed at destroying the peace of the state.
Chief Ikegbidi urged the people of Ahoada East to shun all forms of propaganda and destructive antics of the supervising Minister of Education, Hon. Nyesom Wike and his supporters in the State.
According to him, it is only a drowning man that anxiously goes about black-mailing and fabricating lies against innocent persons in order to buy favour from the Presidency.
He said, no kind of deceit and propaganda would cheaply change the minds of Ahoada people, stressing that Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi had done a lot for the people in the area of infrastructure and empowerment.
Chief Ikegbidi said the people of Ahoada were overwhelmed by the infrastructural projects and programmes initiated by Governor Amaechi’s administration in the area, saying that his developmental strides had endeared him to the people.
He called on President Goodluck Jonathan to beware of sycophants, who were rather interested in their personal gains, adding that the people of Rivers State had vowed to support him.
Also speaking, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. (Mrs) Beatrice Awala lauded Governor Amaechi on his administration’s developmental strides since he assumed office in October 2007.
Hon. Awala said, it is only the blind or an evil mind that can deny the governor’s performance in the State.
She called on the people of Ahoada to support the governor, in spite of the campaign of calumny against him by evil minded people.
