Coach Commends Cup Donor Over Grassroots Dev
A veteran football coach in Rivers State, Mr Edwin Amaewhule has commended the sponsor of the annual grassroots football competition among various youth teams in Ikwerre Local Government Area, Chief Isaac Wonwu for his consistency.
Coach Amaewhule, who has followed grassroots football noted that, the sponsor has showed that great passion for grassroots football by sustaining the competition up to date.
“The competition has produced players who are plying their trade in the big league. I have no doubt that many would join the train soonest he said.
Amaewhule, also urged other well meaning individuals in the state to emulate Chief Wonwu by donating trophies to be competed for among youth within their communities.
He maintained that with grassroots sports competition having the centre stage, the youth would not only be channeling their energy to meaningful activities, but also exploit the platforms for a better future.
The veteran coach urged Chief Wonwu not to relent in his philanthropic gestures of promoting grassroots football.
He noted that posterity will not forget him on the day of reckoning especially as it concerns grassroots soccer development in the state.
