Book On Rivers Youth For Launch, Morrow
A book on “youth empowerment programme” of the Amaechi administration in Rivers State will be presented to the public, tomorrow
Governor Amaechi through the Ministry of Youth Development had initiated a process of empowering unemployed youths in the state to redefine their future and make life worthwhile for them.
The programme which was jointly executed by Pamela D Moore and Associates of the United States of America, Developement and Leadership Institute, Port Harcourt as well as the State Ministry of Youth Development will draw participants from all the local government areas in the state who were trained on various fields of human endeavour.
The 331-page book is based on the experiences and reports presented by the participants at the programme and edited by Messrs Oluwatosin Quadri, Diangm Dakolo, Nyema Onunwor and Sofiri Joab Peterside.
Dignitaries expected at the book presentation are the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Sir Owene Wonodi, Commissioner for Local Government, Hon Samuel Eyiba, the chairman of Oyibo Local Government Council, Hon Felix Nweke and the chairman of Okrika Divisional Council of Chiefs, Chief Nemi Adoki.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector. Dr. Nwagor made the appeal when members of the Etche Ethnic Practicing Journalists (EEPJ) paid him a courtesy visit in Office in Port Harcourt. The Commissioner emphasized the strategic role of the media in shaping public perception, promoting government initiatives, and supporting policies capable of improving the quality of education and human capital development in the state.
