Kwara Closes Two Schools
Two nursery and primary schools have been shut down in Ganmo
in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara by the Kwara State Ministry of
Education and Human Capital Development.
They are Mascot Academy Nursery and Primary Schools and
Cresent Deen Nursery and Primary School.
The schools were shutdown last week by the Ministry during
an on-the-spot assessment of some private schools in the state.
The ministry said the closure was with immediate effect.
The Director, Quality Assurance Bureau of the Ministry,
Alhaji Abubakar Bello-Mohammed said during the inspection that the state
government would not compromise quality in the education sector.
Bello-Mohammed, who is also the Chairman of the state
taskforce, warned private schools operating under unconducive environment to
close immediately or face the wrath of the government.
He advised parents to always seek for clarification from the
ministry before enrolling their children in private schools.
