Tide Editor Bags Ph.D
The Training and Research Editor, The Tide, Desmond Osueke was among 98 others who were conferred with Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) at the 28th Convocation ceremony of the University of Port Harcourt last Saturday.
Dr. Osueke who specialized in Development Communication has in his kitty, BA Education (English/Literature), and MA Mass Communication both obtained from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Osueke who has practiced journalism for more than 15 years, held such positions as the Secretary of The Tide Editorial Board, Deputy News Editor, Features Editor and Production Editor at various times.
Commenting on his achievement, Dr. Osueke said it was the result of determination and absolute faith in God.
“The top is never congested”, he enthused.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC), Mr. Celestine Ogolo had described Dr. Osueke as a hardworking and unassuming gentleman.
Mr. Ogolo congratulated Dr. Osueke for adding a new feather and expressed confidence that his scholarly input would impact positively on his editorial responsibilities in the Corporation.
