Eguma Blames Fatigue, Referee For Draw With Heartland
The Technical Adviser TA of Dolphins FC, Port Harcourt, Stanley Eguma, has attributed Wednesday’s 1-1 home draw with Heartland FC of Owerri in the week 14. Nigeria Premier League match to fatigue on the side of his players.
Eguma stated this in a post match interview with Tidesports, saying that his players were tired after their recent heavy schedule.
Dolphins are involved in the CAF Champions League and still play weekend and mid week matches in the domestic league.
The TA explained that the Heartland match was a good one and his boys played up to his expectation.
“That is football for you, sometimes you lose, draw or win, my players tried their best, but what happened actually was that they were fatigued after playing the weekend game against Kwara United”, Eguma said.
He also blamed the referee for denying them a penalty when his player was brought down, which would have made them win the game.
“My plan was to win the match but it ended 1-1”.
Dolphins’ Owusu Ade had leveled the tie for Dolphins shortly after the visitors took the lead, courtesy of Abdul Haruna’s 32nd minute strike.
