The Vice-Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, Professor Rosemund Dienye Green-Osahogulu, has appealed to the Rivers State government to release budgetary allocation appropriated to the institution in 2011 to enable it perform effectively.
Professor Green-Osahogulu made the appeal when members of Association of Bursars of Nigerian Universities paid her a courtesy visit in her office, Tuesday.
The Vice-Chancellor regretted the inability of the state government to release the 2011 budgetary allocation appropriated to the institution adding that such situation has affected the institution to effectively carry out its financial obligations.
She further stated that the institution has not received its take-off grant as approved by the state government adding that the institution’s transformation into a University status has been a dream for over fifteen years.

She thanked the association for the choice of the institution for the meeting and assured the group of adequate protection throughout their stay in the campus.
Earlier in his address, the Proteem Chairman of the association, Mr. Robinson Akujobi, said they were in her office to inform her of their meeting in the University adding that the forum was made up of Bursars from all Universities in the country including Federal, state and Private.
