Proprietor Challenges Old Boys On Alma Mater’s Legacies
The Executive Council of Santa Maria High School, Omoku (SAMAHISCO) Old Students Association, has been charged to take the school’s flag to enviable heights to enable it soar like the eagle.
Proprietor of Izibridge Crown Schools, Rukpokwu, Port Harcourt, Dr Sam Izidor gave the charge when the Executive Council of SAMAHISCO Old Students Association led by the President, Dr Ahianzu Levi paid him a courtesy visit in his office recently.
He noted that the school has come of age having produced leaders of thought and doyens of various professions, the cream of the society, such as His Eminence Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland, Late Chukumela Nnam Obi II, Prof Sunny Okoroma; Sir Ifi Francis; Hon Justice S.O Benson (rtd); Engr Beniah E. Ojum; Rev (Arc) Julius Uche-Owaji; Prince Vincent Ochonma; and Dr. Okechukwu Elekwachi, amongst others.
The proprietor in his nostalgia, expressed fulfilment in meeting the old students of his cherished alma-mater that greatly made him.
Hence, he encouraged the President, Dr Ahiauzu Levi to sustain his vision, consultations and exemplary leadership traits towards achieving greatness for the association and the alma-mater.
He further enjoined the Exco to organise an impactiful home-coming event in the school premises, and re-invent participatory deliberations on the school’s platform (Whatssapp), being the beauty or hallmark of re-union, unity and progress of the great body.
It would be recalled that SAMAHISCO institution was famous for its sense of discipline, sports and academic prowess under the close watch of its educational icon, principal and statesman, Late Elder I.O. Izeogu (1938-2021).
Speaking earlier, the President of SAMAHISCO, Dr Ahiauzu Levi, had remarked that the primary aim of the visit was to identify with one of their own, Dr Izidor, a distinguished old boy, eminent scholar of the Engineering profession, illustrious son of Ogbaland in Orashi region and a Nigerian patriot, who has carved a niche for himself, having served in vital sectors of the economy for decades and now retired to mould and build a total child and a new generation (Nigeria), through the citadel of knowledge popularly known as Izibridge Crown Schools, Rukpokwu, Port Harcourt.
Dignitaries that accompanied the association’s President were Chief Enyie N.K.O; Igwe Okirie Monday; and Odu Charles, among others.
