Adopt Policy Of Unity, Expert Urges Soludo
A political scientist in Rivers State, Sir Elvis Uranta, has admonished Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State to adopt a coalition unity government now that he has assumed duties.
Speaking with The Tide recently in Port Harcourt on the new leadership in Anambra State and the people’s expectations, Uranta, while congratulating Soludo on his electoral victory, said the adoption of unity government in the State will serve as a panacea for the smooth running of government in the State throughout the administration.
Uranta tasked the Governor to embrace coalition which he believes will usher an atmosphere of peace, tranquillity and support of all and sundry in the State. He said, “ it is established, the freedom in modern democratic Nigeria with political authority vested in the hands of Nigerians and it also symbolised the birth of a new dawn in political and solid consciousness towards building of a better Anambra State in particular and Nigeria in general”.
Uranta stated that government should allow the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct free, fair and credible polls devoid of political bias.
Felicitating with the Governor, who he described as “indefatigable” governor, administrator, economist and leader, he appealed to all citizens of Anambra State to support the new dispensation by embracing peace for the overall development and interest of the state, stating that no state can develop in an atmosphere of rancour and acrimony since there is no perfect polls the world over.
“We should love one another and prepare for the 2023 polls by looking forward to fruitful administrations. Any person aggrieved after elections should seek redress in the law court of competent jurisdiction, instead of plotting evil that may bounce back,” he said.
He, however, expressed confidence in Governor Charles Soludo, and prayed for the success of his administration.
Meanwhile, Sir Elvis Uranta used the opportunity to urge aspirants vying for one position or the other under their political platforms ahead of the 2023 general polls to prepare themselves for the elections by allowing the votes of the electorate to count for peace to thrive next year in Nigeria.
