Bonny-Bille Inferno: Wike Expresses Grief
The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike has expressed grief over the deaths and injuries caused by the inferno which occurred at Bonny-Bille jetty yesterday by 12 midnight.
This was revealed in a statement released yesterday by the Special Assistant, Media to the Rivers State Governor, Kelvin Ebiri.
According to the statement, Governor Wike said he is greatly saddened by the news of the incident as lives and properties were lost. He equally sympthatised with those affected and sent his prayers.
In his words, “On behalf of the Government of Rivers State, I would like to offer my sincere prayers for the victims of the fire incident and extend my deepest condolences to their families. I would also like to sincerely pray for early recovery of those who were injured.”
Furthermore, the Governor urged the Rivers State Police Command and other relevant security agencies to conduct a detailed investigation and unravel the exact cause of the tragedy.
