LG Boss Pledges New Development Blueprint
The chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Dame Maureen Tanuno has reiterated her desire to transform the area to the next level of development.
Dame Tamuno, who made the assertion during a Town Hall meeting with stakeholders of the Local Government at the Multi-purpose Hall, ogu, said a developmental blue-print had been drawn up for effective implementation.
According to the council boss, her administration would leave no stone unturned to give the people a sense of belonging, adding that the Town Hall meeting was to get imputs from the communities in the Area on their priority needs.
She noted that her administration would resolve all boundary issues, and the population census pointing out that she intends to upgrade the libraries to an e-library inorder to develop their basic skills in computer and e-mail.
Dame Tanuno also called on parents to encourage their children and wards to go to school as government had made education free, notime that education is the bed rock of development.
The chairman disclosed that the council would soon invited all community Liaison Officers in various Companies in the area to give account of their stewardship, assuring that her administration would operate an open door policy which requires all hands to be on deck. Also speaking, a commissioner in the Local Government Service Commission Chief Jonah Tamuno enjoined the people of the LGA to think of how the area would move forward and appealed to all to give the council boss the necessary co-operation and support to achieve our common desire for the people.
In a vote of thanks, a member of the Ogu/Bolo Legislative Assembly, Chief Bapakaye Orabere Ibaraboka commended the chairman for organizing the town hall meeting which he described as very successful and historic and assured the assured the council boss of their support for a purposeful leadership and improved level of development to the area.
The meeting was attended by chiefs opinion leaders, elders, women and youths among whom are a member of the Federal Character Commission, Abuja, Chief S.M.K. Taribo and a former chairman of the council, Hon Mina Clever Tende.
