Civil Servants Hail Wike Over Restoration Of Water In Secretariat
Some civil servants have expressed excitement over the restoration of water to the state Secretariat Complex.
A cross section of civil servants who spoke in an interview with The Tide said the gesture would improve the quality of service delivery by civil servants working at the secretariat complex.
They also commended Governor Wike for keeping his promise of providing a conducive working environment for civil servants in the state.
A civil servant, Henrietta Fortunatus, said the era of water scarcity at the state secretariat complex is gone, adding that civil servants will now settle down to do their work.
She also said the situation would improve the hygienic condition of the secretariat.
Also speaking, another civil servant, Peace Osuo-Mokpeme thanked Governor Wike for keeping his promise of improving the condition of work at the secretariat.
It would be recalled that the state commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Dr Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja who had said the restoration of water at the secretariat would end the era of patronising water vendors, expressed gratitude to Governor Wike for caring for the needs of civil servants.
“Ministries have been patronising water vendors and his Excellency directed that this should stop within 30 days and we have delivered water in the secretariat”, he said.
The commissioner also urged all ministries to fix all faulty pipes and taps in order to avoid leakages.
