2019 Polls: Monarch Cautions Against Bloodshed
Ahead of the general elections across the country, the paramount ruler of Kpite Community in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, King Samuel L.A. Nnee has warned that it would be worthless, if any politicians rise to leadership office with human bloods
King Nnee gave the warning in an interview with The Tide at his Palace in Kpite Town, Tai Local Government Area of the State.
He advised politicians and partyleaders to play politics by the rule of the game, saying that politics is like a game of football, which the better side wins while the loser prepares itself for another tournament.
“I want to use this medium to advise politicians that there should be peace during and after elections, we should not do anything that will cause loss of life because it will be worthless, if anybody rises to office with the scores of human bloods.
“All political parties, candidates should play by rule of the game”, the King advised.
The traditional ruler who called for onward review of system of governance in all levels of government, called on political parties to look forward to a policy that will build trust and developments in human capacity.
According to him, Nigeria’s system of government presently is a system where people depend on governments to sustain themselves, attributing it to the poor economic growth and unemployment rates in the country.
King Nnee, who is an economist said no country could grow economically if over 60 percent of young people looked for jobs in governments, saying that the society will only overcome the present economic challenges.
“We are looking forward for a new government that will build trust and developments in human capacity, a government that will give opportunity for young people to develop themselves to be independent without influx on government’s jobs.
“What we had in the past and presently is a system where people depend on local, state and federal governments for employments but not fetching them anything, and that is why we have cultists, crimes and social vices everywhere.
