Delta APC Chairman Drums Support For Okowa
Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr Oto Ogbiruveta, has expressed confidence in the ability of the Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to improve Delta State beyond her current level, urging the people of Aladja to consider him for re-election in view of the many evidence of infrastructural revolution in the area.
Mr Ogbiruveta, who is also President General of Aladja Community, spoke when the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) visited Aladja on ward tour and rally ahead of the 2019 general election.
The party chairman emphasised that all politics was about attracting development to one’s area and that if Okowa could construct one of the major roads in Aladja among other incredible performance records, he won’t mind asking Aladja to vote Okowa again.
Ogbiruveta added that while as an APC chieftain, he may not be able to campaign for PDP candidates, he cannot help but support governor Okowa in view of his concern for the welfare and progress of the people.
“I am asking my people to support Okowa because of what he has done for Aladja. Our son is now council Chairman in the person of Chief Jite Brown, our major road is under construction, schools are being renovated and many other persons have been touched by Okowa’s magnanimity and excellent vision for the people.
“Though I am an APC Chairman, I cannot but throw my weight behind Okowa’s re-election,”
Mr Ogbiruveta stated, emphasising that if supporting Okowa will bring peace and development to Aladja community, he will not jettison same because of party affiliation.”
Earlier in a statement, Chairman of the Campaign Committee in Udu, Chief Henry Sakpra urged the people to support all PDP Candidates for improved living condition in the area.
Former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Andrew Orugbo disclosed that it would be in the best interest of the Urhobo nation to support Okowa in the 2019 polls.
