Police Parade 93 Suspects, Human Trafficking Syndicate Members

Command says it has arrested 93 criminal suspects including a five- member human trafficking syndicate for their various involvement in criminal activities across the state.
The State Commissioner of Police CP Usman A. Belel stated last Tuesday in Port Harcourt while parading some criminal suspects arrested by the Police operative within one week of his assumption of office in the state.
Belel said the essence of the briefing was to enable him share some achievements by the command within one week of his stewardship in keeping with his pledge to fight all manner of crimes and make the state peaceful.
The CP, while giving a summary of his achievements disclosed that the Command within the period under review said 36 cultists, 17 kidnappers, 30 armed robbers, five-member human trafficking syndicate, were arrested while five kidnapped victims were also rescued.
He further disclosed that four armed robbery and kidnapping incidents were foiled, while 15 cultists, 18 kidnappers as well as seven armed robbers have also been prosecuted, respectively.
On the recovery of various caches of ammunition and fire arms, the CP disclosed that 1 English pistol, 23 locally made pistols, two pump action guns, one double barrel gun, 17 cartridges, 23 live ammunition, two magazines, two vehicles two matchets, one locally made short gun and one motor cycle were recovered.
Also recovered according to him, were N250,000.00 assorted charms/amulets, assorted GSM handsets, six pairs of army uniform, Army boots, air-force camouflage, navy uniforms as well as army caps Balel told journalists that on 5/1/2019, men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad while acting on credible intelligence, burst a three man gang armed robbers, who in recent times has been operating in fake military uniforms, intimidating and robbing innocent persons of their belongings.
