Yuletide: PHED Assures Steady Power Supply
The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, says it has made adequate plans to ensure that her customers in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa , Cross River and Rivers states enjoy both Christmas and New Year celebrations with uninterrupted power supply.
The spokesman of the company, John Onyi, in a statement made available to The Tide, said that the assurance was given by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Naveen Kapoor, in a strategic meeting held with the staff in Port Harcourt, recently.
The statement further said that Kapoor charged all customer- interfacing staff to be extremely dedicated with a view to achieving customers’ satisfaction especially during the yuletide season when they are celebrating with their family members.
According to the statement, a 24-hour technical surveillance team has been put on stand-by to ensure that the service lines are completely free from faults. It also said that in the event of faults occurring, they would be promptly cleared.
Kapoor, urged the customers to report any fault that would impede them from not getting supply to the nearest PHED office or call the 24/7 centre for immediate resolution that would subsequently lead to restoration of power supply to their area.
“We are not leaving any stone unturned during this yuletide season. We want to ensure that our customers celebrate it with supply and that’s why we strategically dedicated the technical team for prompt fault resolution”, he said.
Kapoor, however, urged PHED customers to reciprocate the company’s kind gesture by ensuring that their electricity bills are settled before travelling out of their places. This, he said, would encourage PHED to do more in terms of network expansion and provision of electrical materials, among others.
