PDP Convention ‘Il Restore Hope To Nigerians -Chieftain
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Rivers State, Chief Frank Owhor, has explained that Saturday’s non-election convention of the party will be a re-union that will consolidate and give Nigeria a new hope that another party is on the way to take over from the non-performing All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
He said that nothing is lost, even with the distraction that was noticed in the party through Ali Modu Sheriff, but that, this Saturday’s convention will be well organised to bring PDP together.
Owhor, who was speaking to aviation correspondents at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa on his way to Abuja, noted that, the APC has disappointed Nigerians, adding that there is no area the APC has performed.
“This convention is to bring hope to Nigeria, it is quite promising, it is sort of a re-union, to consolidate and give Nigeria a new hope.
“You can see that it is not easy to rule. The APC was an opposition before in Nigeria, but they came to power and could not perform. They have disappointed Nigeria in every ramification.
“They have failed woefully, and there is no area of the economy they have performed.
This convention is to energise us, and certainly to ensure that hope is restored, and God willing, this party is going to come to power again in a big way”, he stressed.
Owhor, who is a member of two different convention planning committees added that, the PDP has its strategy, pointing out that the party will bring a new lease of life and hope to Nigerians.
On the demonstration for the return or resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari, Owhor said that the constitution has spelt out how things should be done, and that such applies all over the world, and that no body or group will stampede the country.
