Group Solicits Support For Wakirike Leaders Peace Summit
The Kirike Be-se peace and development project has urged for public support for its forth-coming Wakirike youth leaders summit/ peace rally.
A statement made available to The Tide in Port Harcourt indicated that, the youth leaders summit will hold on the 10th of July, 2010 at the Oga multi- purpose hall, Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area while the peace rally holds on Wednesday 14th July, 2010 at the Okrika National School field, Okrika.
The statement Jointly signed by Evangelist Clara .l. Ngeribika, Chairperson, Central Working Committee and Egerton .A. Akuro, secretary of the committee said the events would be attended by community youth executives as well as ex-militants and their leaders.
The objectives, according to the summit organisers, include, to redirect the vision of the youth leaders on the challenges facing them, to challenge the youth leaders to pursue the establishment of a central youth body and to build team spirit.
The rest are to motivate the youth leaders to be focused, purposeful and self-reliant and to motivate the youth leaders to champion the cause for the restoration of respect for elders and authorities.
It also noted that, the peace rally with the theme of sustainable peace, the pathway to development will be used to commemorate the declaration of peace in Wakirike, consolidate the gains of the peaceful environment as well as enhance unity.
