RSUST Offers Building Technology, Soon
The Rivers State Uni
versity of Science and Technology (RSUST), Nkpolu will soon offer Building Technology as one of its departmental courses.
The State Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Building, Builder, Moses Ugheoke who revealed this on Friday, said the vice Chancellor of the Institution, Professor, Blessing Didia has assured the body when the executive of NIOB visited him, but said finance as one of the impediment that still hold it commencement at the institution.
According to him, “ the Vice Chancellor said they are eager to kick·start the course, but finance is withholding them while the newly upgraded Port Harcourt Polytechnic has a building department that is working on getting accreditation from NBTE and the chapter is going all out to assist the school In the accreditation processes while we are yet to get favourable answers from Rivpoly”.
Moses said the idea is to get more professionals who will engage in the building projects in the state.
The State Chairman however boasted that Rivers State is the most progressive chapter of the institute in the country, that the members apart from meeting monthly, also had advocated the use of builders in building projects.
He informed that the Institute had met with the head of various institutions in the state and solicited for the Building Technology to be offered in their schools, stating that the institute embarked on this projects to broaden and create awareness on the people.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector.
