Medical, Primary Health Workers Deny Planned Strike In Rivers
The Medical and Health
Workers Union’s Primary Health Care Sector in Rivers State has denied report of moves to embark o strike.
The Secretary of the Medical and Health Workers Union, Primary Health Care Sector, Comrade George Kaisereye, told newsmen in Port Harcourt, that the union was still negotiating with the Rivers State Government over issues bordering on lack of promotions and welfare of the primary health workers in the state, and has no plans to embark on strike when all avenues of dialogue have not been exhausted.
Also speaking, the Acting Chairman, Primary Health Care Sector Union, Comrade David Walson, denied reports of a reconciliation meeting between the factions of the union.
Meanwhile, Reuben Wecheonu, has denied that he was no longer the chairman of the Primary Health Care Union.
He said that anyone claiming to be acting in his stead was doing so at his own peril, and warned anyone interacting with such person (s) to beware of impersonators.
