Youth Empowerement, Cardinal Point Of Wike’s Administration – Banigo

The Rivers State Deputy
Governor, Dr (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo says youth empowerment is a cardinal programme of Governor Nyesom Wike’s administration.
Banigo stated this on Wednesday at the graduation ceremony of Caywood Brown Foundation in Elelenwo in Port Harcourt.
Noting that the present administration has various empowerment strategies to benefit youth in the state, the Deputy Governor charged the youth to take advantage of the various programmes to better their living.
Banigo who was Special Guest of Honour at the event further urged well-meaning individuals and organisations to partner with the administration so as to better the lives of youth in the state.
The Deputy Governor who was represented at the event by the General Manager, Rivers State Television (RSTV), Pastor Dafini Gogo Abbey lauded Caywood Brown Foundation for its efforts in giving youth hope and means for their future.
She said that the foundation had empowered hundreds of youths and women with vocational and entrepreneurial training, stressing that the organisation had helped in reducing youth restiveness in Niger Delta region.
The Deputy Governor advised youth to shun involvement in social vices and engage themselves in meaningful activities for their own interest and that of the larger society.
She commended the management of the foundation and graduands for the success of the programme and urged the gradunands to be good ambassadors of the foundation.
In her speech, the Special Adviser to the Deputy Governor, Barr Ine Gogo Fubara, charged the graduands to make good use of the training acquired to better their lives and render services to others.
The Manager of the Foundation, Mr Onyekachi Chukwuemeka, said out of 92 registered trainees, 82 graduated after meeting the high standard of the foundation.
According to the manager, the organisation is a faith-based foundation founded in 2006 by the Deputy Governor, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo, to give vocational and entrepreneurial training to youth across Niger Delta region.
Chukwuemeka further said that the beneficiaries were trained free of charge on electrical installations and maintenance, website design, printing, decoration and cinematography.
He commended the founder for her selfless spirit and passion in assisting the needy in the society.
Highlight of the event was the unveiling of ‘Peace Cantata of Caywood Brown Foundation’, which is a peace-building project slated for November 28, 2016.
