Why Moral Decadence Is Pervasive – Kattey

The Archbishop of Province of Niger Delta Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Ignatius Kattey, has blamed the high level of moral decadence in the society on lack of fear of God.
Kattey said this in Port Harcourt while being conferred with the 2016 African Youth Parliament (AYP) Award.
The Archbishop who is also the Bishop Diocese of Niger Delta North was also at the occasion inducted into the Nelson Mandela Hall of Fame by the AYP.
Kattey at the event said that restiveness, poverty and unemployment had underscored the need for prayers to the Creator.
The clergyman also stressed the need for people to stand up against evil in the land and called for the reorientation of the youth to promote peace and development in Africa.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion Mr. Polycarp Ndutang said that the award was a testimony that Nigeria still has good men despite the poor image of the country abroad.
Ndutang also said that the award was a recognition of the activities of the Archbishop especially in the propagation of the gospel of Christ across the world.
Earlier the President of the African youth Parliament Comrade Stephane Junior Lihoue from Cote D’ivoir said that the award was in recognition of the Archbishops contributions to Youth development in Africa.
“Sir may it therefore be noted that your conduct and administrative style has fundamentally amazed our organisation, your passion for humanity, commitment and incomparable dedication to youth development, strict adherence to constitutionalism which over the years has made an institution of yours no doubt the reason why AYP deem it fit for our Award of the year 2016”, he the youth parliament president however urged the recipient to see the award as a call to greater duty and a wakeup call for all to join hands in building the African Continent.
