Commissions Assure On Service Delivery In C’River
The chairmen and
members of Boards and Commissions in Cross River State, have pledged their commitment to efficient service delivery in the state’s public service.
The chairman made this known at the end of their screening and confirmation by the House of Assembly in Calabar.
The chairman Civil Service Commission, Mrs Rosemary Obanya, affirmed that her team of commissioners were conversant with the challenges associated with the civil service.
She said that the commission would work as a team to proffer solutions that would add value to the government.
“As the engine room of government, the civil service commission will ensure that the right caliber of personnel is recruited into the service.
“While issues of stagnation would be sorted out through collaboration with MDAs,” she said. Obanya urged civil servants in the state to continue to give their best in order to reciprocate the prompt payments of salaries to workers by the state government.
Also, Dr Peter Adigeb, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, said the commission would address the poor attitude to work by the staff through proper disciplinary measures.
Adigeb said that prompt attention would be given to staff welfare in the area of promotion and personal relationship with staff and functionaries of the local government.
Similarly, Chairman, Forestry Commisison, Mr Bette Obi, said that members of the commission had agreed to be more committed in their duties by working with the forestry communities.
Bette assured that the commission would not disappoint, stressing that they would commence community sensitisation of government polices and programmes as it affects deforestation, ecosystem and the existing laws.
