Youth Leader Hails Amaechi’s Victory
Last Wednesday’s Victory of Governor Chibuike Amaechi over Chief Bekinbo Sobrekon at the Appeal Court in Port Harcourt has been attributed to the will of God, just as the Governor’s ascendance to the top position of the state.
The Vice President of the Rivers State Youth Assembly (RYA), Comrade Destiny Amadi stated this in a chat with The Tide at the weekend.
According to Comrade Amadi, the victory is an indication that “God truly has a hand in the fortunes of Amaechi as Governor of Rivers State.”
“Look of the manner in which he became the Governor. Only few people could imagine it to be possible. What or who else can perform such miracle but God? “he said.
While congratulating the Governor on the victory, Amadi used the opportunity to urge him to see his position as divine, saying that, “God gives, and God takes. The only way he (Amaechi)” can justify God’s blessings upon his life is to rule Rivers State well, without bias, to God’s glory.
Amadi, however, noted that the Governor cannot do it alone, hence he called on all and sundry, who he called “genuine stakeholders in Rivers State,” to support the governor in “steering the state to a better level of development.”
“He also advised the opposition saying: “oppositions are important in any civilized setting to keep the rulership on its toes. But they should go beyond seeing only negative side by also seeing the positive sides and profer solutions to problems to make the state better.”
