Arik Air Begins Lagos-Abidjan Flight, Feb 16
Arik Air says it will
start scheduled flights from Lagos-Abidjan, Ivory Coast via Cotonou in Benin Republic from February 16.
Mr Chris Ndulue, the airline’s Vice-President, told aviation correspondents in Ikeja that the flights would be four times a week.
The flights will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, he said.
“The Lagos-Abidjan service will be operated using the airline’s state-of-the-art Bombardier CRJ900 configured to carry 10 Business Class and 64 Economy Class passengers from February 16.
“On Mondays, the outbound flight will depart the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at 2.45 p.m. (local time) and arrive at Cotonou International Airport at 3:15 p.m. (local time).
“The flight then leaves Cotonou at 4.00 p.m. (local time) and arrives at Felix Houphouet Boigny International Airport, Abidjan at 4.20 p.m. (local time),” Ndulue said.
According to him, the inbound flight will depart Abidjan in the evening to Lagos through Cotonou.
The vice-president said the commencement of the flights was because Abidjan had become the preferred destination for Nigerian businessmen and women.
“Arik Air’s venture into the commercial city will make life a lot easier for its passengers.”
