various communities of Rundele in the Emohua local government area of Rivers State have been presented with gift items including food, wrappers and cash by the Alice Worluh Widows Foundation.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony at Ndele, the initiator of the foundation, Hon. Lucky Worluh said that the over 571 widows were selected from the various churches in the communities. Hon. Worluh who is the Board member I of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB), said that the ceremony, which is an annual event was to identify with the widows especially in this period of Christmas.
He said that the ceremony which has been running for the past six years has brought joy to various families across the entire Rundele communities and Emohua local government area.
Meanwhile, Hon. Worluh has advised parents to caution their children against involvement in thuggery and other forms of violence during the forth-coming general elections. He said that there is need for parents to tell their children that violence has never been part of the tradition of Rundele, stressing that the peace of the community must be preserved.
Also speaking, Mrs Queeneth Lucky Worluh said that the event was also being used to spread the gospel of Christ to both the beneficiaries and others. She used the occasion to call on indigenes of the community to turn to Christ by confessing their sins as Christ is ready to forgive them. Also speaking, Rev. Ikechi Nyeche of St. Peter’s Church Omofo, Ndele, said that God is using Hon. Lucky Worluh to bring glory to his home in the community. The clergyman used the opportunity to call on well meaning people from the area to come home and help their people.
