Council Boss Assures On Security
The Chairman of Degema Local Government Council, Hon. Michael John Williams, has assured a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Kilali Jeremiah Medical Center, USA, of adequate security, as the NGO commences a three-day medical outreach in Bukuma-Agum Community of the Local Government Area.
Williams, who noted that Bukuma, like other communities of the Local Government, is very peaceful and hospitable, assured that there would be adequate presence of security operatives, to give a sense of safety and confidence to the medical team, especially those coming from outside.
While also promising to attend the event, Hon. Williams assured that his administration would continue to support and encourage initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of the people, adding that “a healthy citizenry is a better and more productive society”.
Leader of the team, Dr. Emmanuel Alalibo, had in his speech commended the council chairman for demonstrating uncommon leadership qualities, describing him as a man of honour.
Alalibo disclosed that though the council chairman had been a part of the planning of the programme, the organisation deemed it necessary to formally pay him a courtesy visit to intimate him with the arrangements, and further seek his collaboration, particularly in security.
He stated further that the outreach is slated to hold from Thursday, January 24, 2024 to Saturday, January, 2024, in Bukuma Community, using the opportunity of their visit to invite the council chairman to grace the maiden event.
