Head Coach of Delta Queens FC, Tosan Blankson, has said that any opponent who underrates the strength of his current team does that at his or her own peril.
The coach stated this in a post match interview after his side had a 1-0 win over NWFL debutants, Ekiti Queens.
He said the team has the chances of surpassing her last outing in the pre-season tournament which was the third position.
Coach Blankson, who hinted that the team was in the tournament without 12 regulars from the team that emerged NWFL Champions last season, however expressed confidence on the strength of his current team as he said he was proud of their first outing together.
“ The 11 players on the field were all new players playing together for the first time. Six of our first list players are on national assignment for the country while six others parted ways with the club so, when you talk about consistency, the consistency is not there now but with this competition, the blending will build up and I bet you, this team you saw today will play in the final of this tournament”
Delta Queens FC, the current NWFL Champions overpowered Ekiti Queens FC by a lone goal in her first outing this season at the BOWFT Preseason Tournament.
