Council Boss Hosts Hausa Community
The Chairman of Eleme Local Government Council of Rivers State, Hon Obarilomate Ollor, has met with the members of the Hausa Community in the local government, assuring them of inclusive government where every tribe or group will have a sense of belonging.
Hon Ollor acknowledged the peaceful disposition of members of the Hausa community, describing it as commendable.
The council chairman implored other tribes in the area to emulate the members of the Hausa community whose contributions to the development of Eleme, he said are not in doubt.
Hon Ollor, who made the remarks during a courtesy visit said their support and contributions cannot be taken for granted
He said he will always consult them in the interest of equity, fairness and justice.
He noted that the Hausas are dependable partners whose inputs are a living testimony.
Earlier, the leader of the group, Comrade Mohammed Giwa said the visit was aimed at cementing their relationship with the council chairman and Eleme people.
Giwa, who doubles as Chairman, Heavy Truck Drivers, South South, South East Section, said Hausas will continue to support the council chairman whom he described as a detrabalised leader.
He said under his leadership, the members of Hausa community have enjoyed tremendous peace.
He explained that the peaceful environment as witnessed by both residents and the business community is one of the milestones of the chairman.
Giwa said the human capital development, empowerment, job creation, infrastructure, security milestones in the area are obvious achievements of the council chairman.
Giwa voewd that the Hausas will stop at nothing to support his future ambition.
Giwa, the Wammbi 1 of Port Harcourt, announced the adoption of the council chairman as preferred candidate based on his track records.
The Wammbi 1 of Port Harcourt said the decision by his group to endorse the chairman remains irrevocable.
He described those behind recent newspaper publication against the chairman as enemies of the people.
Giwa assured that those behind such wicked publication are out to cause friction between the chairman and members of the Hausa community, and threatened to sue the newspaper that ran the publication.
