Traditional Ruler Advises Youths On Electoral Act
The newly coronated Chief of Rumuagholu Community in Obio/ Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chief Amadi Chinedu (Eze Rishi Okah 1 of Rumuagholu) has advised youths to abide by the new Electoral Act 2022 and avoid electoral malpractices.
He further urged the people of the area. not to indulge in vote-selling and buying, saying that the act potends danger to the future of Nigeria.
Chief Chinedu gave the advice shortly after he was coronated as Eze Orizuka 1 of the community, on Saturday, at the community town hall.
“As a traditional ruler and custodian of culture and tradition, I advise everybody living in the area to abide by the new Electoral Act 2022. I warned against selling and buying of votes.
“This Act will jeopardise the future of the country, mostly our community. We want credible and trustworthy leaders”, Chief Chinedu said.
He used the forum to thank chiefs, friends and well- wishers who came out en masse to witness the coronation.
“ I expressed my profound gratitude to all those who made this occasion a success. I thanked God for everything”, he stated.
Earlier , the Paramount Ruler of Rumuagholu community, Eze Attam 11 ,Eze Bekwele Attam, had enjoined the new chief to ensure that peace and truth remained his watchword.
Eze Bekwele said the choice of Chief Amadi was a collective will of the people based on his track records.
