Ex- Player Calls For Football Dev In Nigeria
Former Enugu Rangers Football Club player, Ozor Anthony has called on Nigeria’s ex-Internationals to show more support for the development of football.
He stated that promotion and development of the game is the only way football can grow in the nation, saying the country football is going down.
Anthony made the call on Monday in a telephone interview with Tidesports as Argentina won the just concluded 2022 World Cup held in Qatar.
“It is high time our ex-International players support the development of football in the country. Look at what Samuel Eto is doing in Cameroon.
“We need our ex- Internationals to do the same in Nigeria. Look at what Morocco did in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, it is because they have good football structure at the grassroots.
“ We need to improve on our football structure and we can also achieve this if our Ex-Internationals come to support football development.
“I need stakeholders to come with good experiences to save Nigeria football” Anthony said.
He frowned at the situation where home based players hardly get national invites no matter how good or decent the player or players might be.
