2023: Wike Controls Over 14 States, Galadima Claims
A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has predicted the defeat of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 election, if the crisis rocking the party was not resolved quickly.
Speaking during a live programme on Channels Television, at the weekend, Galadima gave a breakdown of states and regions likely to support the presidential candidates, noting that Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, controls 14 states across the country.
He said that the massive support base of the Rivers State governor across the country was the reason why most viable presidential candidates were falling over themselves to earn the endorsement of Wike.
Galadima said, “PDP is not even on the ballot because its strength is in the South-East, which has been eroded by Peter Obi. The next strength of PDP is in the South-South. With Wike never supporting Atiku, the South-South is gone.
“The North-East is completely Kwankwaso because he will win Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe, and Bauchi, including the governorship.
“He will win the North-East, North-Central, and will win the North-West. All combined, they have over 50-something million voters. Kwankwaso will poach the South-South, South-East, and part of the South-West.”
He noted that whoever Governor Nyesom Wike supports in the 2023 elections would win the Presidency, adding that ignoring the Rivers State governor was at the detriment of any presidential candidate.
Galadima said that presidential candidates courting the support of Wike were working based on the realities on the ground, adding that Wike was the magic wand to open the doors of Aso Rock in 2023.
