2023: MOSOP Bigwig Drums Support For PDP Guber Candidate …Says Wike’s Choice Of Fubara’ll Bring Freedom To Ogoni People
A frontline human rights activist in Rivers State and former leader of Pan-Ogoni group, the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP), Dr. Gani Topba, has expressed total support for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) ahead of the 2023 general election, Sir Siminialayi Joseph Fubara.
Topba described Fubara as the “expected Joshua who is out to free the people of Ogoni from political slavery, just as he will deliver justice to the state in particular and Nigeria in general”.
Addressing journalists recently in Port Harcourt on the emergence of Fubara, Topba commended the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, and the PDP family for choosing Fubara as his successor next year.
He maintained that with the presence of the governorship flag-bearer of PDP, the Ogoni ethnic nationality would heave a sigh of relief against political marginalisation of the Nigerian state, noting that the decision of the governor to produce the next governor from the South-East Senatorial District was a promise fulfilled.
He said that the group would sensitise and mobilise the people for 100percent votes for the PDP candidate.
The MOSOP chieftain explained that Wike has written his name in gold by providing Fubara to run for election in the 2023 polls, adding that with his appearance, Ogoni people were going to benefit immensely in terms of quality leadership and the development of Ogoni communities.
Topba described Fubara as a distinguished son of the soil and unassuming leader of repute, who has what it takes to reshape the state and its people.
A non-partisan leader, Topba stressed that he would ensure total victory for Fubara in the election to enable him develop the 23 local government areas of the state with mapped out people-oriented transformation agenda.
According to him, “I will ensure the sensitisation and mobilisation of Ogoni people to support Sir Siminialayi Fubara governorship project for victory. Come rain or shine, we must vote massively for the PDP governorship candidate for our own good next year.
“I use the opportunity to commend Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for his wisdom and selflessness in the governance of the oil-rich state as he remembered Ogoni people via Sir Siminialayi Fubara, a true son of the soil”.
He, however, urged Rivers people to remain connected towards the good things coming through Fubara, whom he described as a “man full of wisdom, leadership acumen and manager of human and material resources.”
