112 LAPO Long Serving Staff Get N74m Cash Reward
One hundred and twelve members of staff of the Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO) yesterday received N74 million cash award during the organisation’s 2022 long service and meritorious award.
Speaking at the event held in Benin, the Chief Executive Officer of LAPO, Dr Godwin Ehigiamusoe, said the award was a reward for hard work and promotion of the LAPO brand.
According to Ehigiamusoe, LAPO group believes that people are always our greatest assets.
“First, it is the unique nature of business and client, all our businesses are people oriented and we seek to impact on the standards of living of clients and customers.
“Secondly, we work mainly with people at the bottom-end of the society,” he said.
He said that the uncommon commitment, diligence and integrity of the staff, had made the organisation resilient in its more than 30 years of existence.
Meanwhile, the president, LAPO Staff Welfare Scheme, Mrs Amen Akenbor, commended the management of the organisation for recognising the dedication, commitment and excellent of staff.
Akenbor said the organisation had no doubt grown in leaps and bounds, due to the efforts put in by dedicated staff.
She, however, urged the awardees to see the recognition as a call to greater service as well as use their wealth of experience and expertise to mentor upcoming staff.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 468 employees, comprising staff, who had completed 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of continuous service across the LAPO eco-system were given awards
The figure also includes 25 staff who received performance driven best staff award with automatic promotion.
NAN further reports that 98 staff who had worked for 15 years, got the sum of N500, 000 each and eight staff who had completed 20 years in service, received N1.5 million each.
Five staff, with 25 years of active service in the organisation, got N2 million each, while a staff who had been working in the organisation for 30 years was given N3 million. (NAN)
