Andoni Arrests Three Fake Medical Practitioners
The authority of Andoni Local Government Council has apprehended three persons for allegedly impersonating as medical practitioners.
The suspects, who are two males posing as doctors and a female posing as a nurse, were arrested in Asarama Town of Andoni on a tip-off with the aid of the Head of Medical Personnel in the local government.
The suspects were identified as Gift Harvest, who claim to be an auxiliary nurse; Dr. Patrick Effiong, an unqualified health assistant; and Williams Biranwi, who claims to be an auxiliary nurse.
The Andoni Council Chairman, Barrister Erastus Awortu, who confirmed the development, said the suspects were on illegal medical mission to Andoni without proof of qualifications.
He said the suspects, who are quacks posing as qualified medical personnel, had even performed surgeries on some unsuspecting victims before they were caught.
The Andoni Council boss while condemning the act, said the suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigation with a view to uncovering their true intention.
Awortu also called on the populace of Andoni to be vigilant as criminals seeking to exploit the unsuspecting public can go to any length, including endangering the lives of people to achieve their illegitimate and awful intentions.
