ASALGA PDP Hails LG Boss Over Giant Strides

The Chairman of the Asari-Toru Local Government Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Oduye West, has praised the giant strides made by the Chairman of the Local Government Area, Hon. Onengiyeofori George, saying that “the chairman has exceeded our expectations”.
Oduye made the insertion during the ASALGA PDP expanded executive committee meeting, held at the party’s Secretariat at Buguma, in Asari-toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The PDP chairman, who eulogised and showered encomiums on the ASALGA council boss, said his outstanding achievements since he came on board, have turned around the fortunes of the area.
“We are strengthened by your show of companionship with the party. As a party, we want you to have confidence in us. We have your back; we will continue to stand by you.
“We are proud of the ambassador we have in governance, because your achievements are already speaking for you. Be rest assured, we have confidence in you, we encourage you to continue with what you are doing”.
The party chairman charged the ward chairmen to go to their various wards to put their houses in order, and galvanise support for the party, to attain victory come 2023.
He advised them to have a cordial relationship with their various ward executives and leaders, urging them to hold intensive meetings that would be of good benefit to the party.
“As part of our effort to attain victory in the upcoming election in the local government, the chairman has set up three different committees: think thank committee; unit executives revalidation committee; ward tour visit committee”.
The LGA party chairman urged the different committees to work assiduously to bring up plans that would ensure positive results for the party at the polls.
In his response, the Chairman of council, Hon. Onengiyeofori George, told the leadership of the party to be rest assured that, in no distance time, he would put smiles on the faces of the entire ASALGA PDP executive.
George, while giving his scorecard since he came on board as the chairman, said he was optimistic that ASALGA PDP would have what to use to campaign to achieve victory in the upcoming general election.
He promised to make himself available whenever the party calls upon him, saying that he was ready to give room for their wise counsel that would enable him move ASALGA forward.
The ASALGA PDP extended executives meeting comprises of the LGA executive and the various ward chairmen in the local government.

HoS Hails Fubara Over Provision of Accommodation for Permanent Secretaries

The Head of Service (HoS) of Rivers State, Dr. Mrs. Inyingi S. I. Brown, has commended Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, for approving befitting accommodation for Permanent Secretaries in the state.

This commendation was contained in a press release made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt.

According to the Head of Service, Governor Fubara has continued to demonstrate uncommon commitment to the welfare of civil servants in Rivers State, stressing that such gestures underscore his people-oriented leadership style. She urged civil servants across the state to remain supportive of the governor’s administration in order to sustain good governance and effective public service delivery.

Speaking on behalf of the Body of Permanent Secretaries, Dr. Brown congratulated Governor Fubara on the occasion of his 51st birthday, describing him as “a Governor who leads by serving.”

She further praised the governor’s service-driven and people-centred leadership approach, noting that it has significantly contributed to institutional stability and improved efficiency within the state’s public service. Special appreciation was expressed for the approval of a befitting accommodation complex for Permanent Secretaries, which she said reflects the governor’s commitment to staff welfare and enhanced productivity.

As part of activities to mark the governor’s birthday, the Body of Permanent Secretaries announced the sponsorship of 329 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms for indigent students across the state.

A breakdown of the initiative shows that 319 forms will be distributed across the 319 political wards in Rivers State, while five forms are allocated to non-indigenes and five forms to persons living with disabilities.
