RSNC Open For Collaboration To Improve Society-GM

The Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC) says it is open for collaboration with any relevant organisations to improve the society.
General Manager of the corporation Chief Ernest Chinwo said this during a courtesy call by the River State chapter of the Association of Nigeria Authors in his office.
Chinwo described the Association as a veritable tool for social mobilisation and growth.
He said The Tide Newspaper which is the authentic voice of the Niger Delta will support any effort by any organization to improve enlightenment and education in the society.
Chinwo, who thanked the Association for keeping the society alive with its writings, said the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation is ready and willing to collaborate with any Agencies to actualise its dreams.
The General Manager said the corporation also intends to reintroduce the Arts and Literary page to improve reading in the society.
Chinwo said the feat achieved by The Tide Newspaper in the past 50years would not have been possible without the supports and cooperation of the state government.
Earlier, the state chairman of the Association Chief Adi Wali decried the poor reading culture in the society.
Adi Wali said the visit was to seek for areas of collaboration with a view to making people to read.
He describes the media as veritable tool for social transformation, adding that The Tide Newspaper has remained outstanding among media organisations in the country.
According to him, the poor reading culture in the society was responsible for the mass failure in examinations and examination malpractice in the country stressing that the Association is out to correct it.
The ANA chairman also urged the management of the corporation to work out programme such as Tide ANA yearly prize to encourage reading and research.
