Police Parade 25 Suspected Criminals In C’River
The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, Sikiru Akande has paraded 25 suspected criminals arrested at various locations in the state
Parading the suspects, CP Akande said amongst those arrested were six suspected cultists, nine armed robbers, three suspected murderers, one car snatcher and three gun runners amongst others.
He said the arrest is a dream come true that Cross River State is gradually reclaiming/regaining its lost glory in the area of security.
“This is achievable and possible as a result of our resolve to assiduously clear criminal hideouts and smoke out all criminal elements operating in the state and its environs.
“I want to equivocally state clear that for the Police to function effectively and efficiently in any developed society requires Citizen’s participation, collaborative partnership and willingness of the community to constantly equip the Police with actionable information to forestall unpleasant occurrence(s) or regrettable incidents.
“Our achievement today is not unconnected with the cooperation enjoyed with well meaningful citizens, critical security stakeholders and corporate bodies that meet regularly to re-evaluate our performance so far and the need for improvement that has led to what you are seeing today. See successes recorded below,” he stated, adding that the Command also recovered some items.
