LG Boss Hails Wike Over Opobo Unity Road
The chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Council, Hon Enyiada Cookey_ Gam,has hailed governor Nyesom Wike for the completion of the Ogoni/Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro unity road.
The road is to be commissioned by the governor on Saturday.
Cookey_Gam told The Tide in Port Harcourt that Wike represented light, progress and development in Opobo kingdom.
He praised the governor for coming to their rescue, stressing that the road projects represents love for the people of the area, noting that for fifteen years the road was abandoned by past administrations, leading to suffering by the people over poor communication and transport infrastructure
The council boss described the road project as a symbol of good thing that happened to the people and appealed to the people in the area to make good use of the road after commissioning, pointing out that the road which serves as a link to other neighbouring local government areas and communities will boost economic activities in the area.
On flooding, he said the completion of the road will reduce flooding and create new drainage and to boost security and night life as it is adorned with street lights
He thanked the State Government for giving the people, the opportunity to contribute to the development in the state.
