FA Cup: Go Round FC To Play FinalsAs Obuah Splashes Cash On Players
Go Round fc has qualified for the final of the Rivers State FA Cup after beating Benedi United 1-0 in the semi-final.
Sixteen-year old Daniel Gotom scored off a blistering shot from over 25 yards that beat the Benedi United goalkeeper for the only goal of the game.
Go Round FC had earlier beaten Egi City FC 4-0 in the quarter final on Friday.
According to sources at the Rivers State Football Association, Go Round FC will play the final on Friday against Rivers United.
Meanwhile, coach of Go Round FC, Ngozi Elechi, was elated at the feat of his club as his is optimistic Go Round FC can win the state FA Cup and also gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
“While we focused on the FA Cup, we did not lose sight of our other target which is qualification for the playoffs and then the NPFL,” Elechi said.
“Ï am happy with my team, in three games we scored six goals and conceded none and it means a lot to us.
“We will prepare for the final against Rivers United while we will also keep our eyes on Dynamite FC, Nilayo, Shooting Stars and Stationery Stores in the League,” Elechi said.
Meanwhile the Financier of Go Round FC, Felix Obuah, last Monday, splashed the cash on members of the team in appreciation for their feat in Port Harcourt a day earlier.
The team beat Benedi United 1-0 to qualify for the final of the Rivers State FA Cup and the Obuah met with them, presenting the sum of N500, 000.00 (Five hundred thousand naira)
“I have decided not to make promises for now, but when you do well and it pleases me, I will be here to appreciate you for your good works, “Obuah said while presenting the cash.
The Rivers State Football Association has already fixed Friday, 18th June, 2021 for the state final that will pit Go Round FC against a team, likely to be Rivers United.
The Go Round FC team has already departed for their league game on the road to Dynamite FC.

Iwobi Optimistic On S’Eagles Qualification
Iwobi spoke to Tidesports source ahead of Nigeria’s crunch playoff semi-final against Gabon on Thursday, November 13, in Rabat, Morocco.
The 28-year-old was reacting to Nigeria’s shaky World Cup qualifying campaign that saw the Eagles finish second in Group C behind South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
“We’ve managed to rescue ourselves from the dead,” Iwobi told Tidesports source.
We know we have the players and the abilities to compete against any other country in the world.”
The Fulham star pointed to Nigeria’s star power, highlighting African Footballer of the Year winners Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen as proof of the squad’s quality.
“We have last year’s African best player (Ademola Lookman), the year before that (Victor Osimhen),” he said.
“It’ll be a shame if we don’t make it, but we have a lot of confidence. We just have to prove it to ourselves.”
Nigeria’s path to the United States, Canada and Mexico has been turbulent, with two coaches departing during the early stages of qualifying before Éric Chelle steadied the ship to steer the Super Eagles into November’s CAF playoffs.
Four nations from the continent – Nigeria, Cameroon, DR Congo and Gabon – will vie for a solitary spot to compete in next March’s inter-confederation playoffs, with a view to joining the already nine qualified African nations at the Finals.
It would mark Iwobi’s second appearance at the World Cup Finals and the Super Eagles’ first since the 2018 edition of the competition.
Back then, Iwobi featured in all three games as Nigeria was knocked out in the group stage.
