Police Probe Councillor’s Alleged Stabbing Of Vigilante’s Head In Rivers
The Rivers State Police Command says it has commenced investigations into the alleged stabbing of the head of a member of a vigilante group in the Mile 1 area of Diobu, of Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Isaac Ikechukwu Ohaukwu (aka Grade A1), was said to have been stabbed by the Councillor representing Ward 17 in the Port Harcourt City Legislative Assembly, Chigozie Woka, along Okwuzu-Illoabuchi Street in Mile 1, over the weekend.
The spokesman of the command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, disclosed this while confirming the incident to The Tide in a telephone interview, yesterday.
Omoni noted that the command was aware of the incident, adding that investigation has already commenced.
“Yes, I can confirm to you that we are aware of the incident, and we have started investigations on the matter”, he stated.
It would be recalled that Isaac Ikechukwu Ohaukwu (aka Grade A1), was the head a vigilante group in Okwuzu Street through Illoabuchi Street, Mile 1, Diobu, when the incident occurred.
An eyewitness said the head of the vigilante was stabbed due to a disagreement he had with the councillor regarding the ongoing councillorship tussles in the ward.
