Rivers-Born Designer Emerges Best Female Competitor At 2020 SMEDAN Talent Hunt
A Port Harcourt-based Fashion Designer, Asime Noble Oripirika, has emerged as the best female competitor at the 2020 SMEDAN Talent Hunt Competition in Calabar, Cross River State.
Noble, a 27-year-old designer from Okrika Local Government Area, was adjudged to be the best performing female at the event, after putting up a splendid performance.
Although she was edged to the second spot in the fashion event, Noble was applauded for being the best female in the events that was heavily dominated by male winners.
Alex J. Alex, a 20-year-old sculptor from Akuku Toru Local Government Area, was also a top prize winner in the craft event.
Alex, who was travelling out of the state for the first time, won as a result of his intricate treatment of design concept and its adaptability to his environment.
Also victorious at the event was Ikeh Chidinma Glory, who emerged within the Top 10 fashion designers at the event.
Rivers State also emerged with the best overall average, winning three positions out of seven entries, and was the toast of officials at the event jointly sponsored by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and the Cross River State Government.
The Rivers State delegation was put together by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to participate at the event.
