Beach Soccer: Portugal Humiliates Nigeria
Nigeria has made a poor start to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay when they were beaten 10-1 by Portugal in their Group D clash.
The Nigerian said Eagles started brightly and opened the scoring through Azeez Abu, but it was all downhill from there.
Nigeria had managed to keep the fancied Portuguese scoreless into the 13th minute, but it all went downhill after that as they were steamrollered.
Africa’s other participants, Senegal, suffered an agonising 8-7 loss to Russia in Group C, who scored their final two goals within 20 seconds of each other.
Both teams were back in action yesterday when Nigeria faced Oman and Senegal took on Belarus.
