KFC: FC Ogoni Secures Semi-Final Ticket
Football Club of Ogoni yesterday thrashed Ambassadors FC of Port Harcourt 3-1 in the quarter final match of the ongoing Keves Football Championship holding at the Sharks Football Stadium, Port Harcourt.
The game pulled a lot of fans to the stadium because both teams played good football.
Ambassadors got the lead in the 16 minutes of the first half of the game and maintain it till the end of the first half.
At resumption FC Ogoni bounced back so good by getting an equaliser in the 46 minutes of the second half.
FC Ogoni scored their second goal through a panelty kick because of a hand ball by Ambassadors defeader inside the 18 yards box.
Speaking with Tidesports in an exclusive interview the head coach of FC Ogoni Elder Didi Edward expressed joy saying that quarter final stages of any tournament is not easy.
“ It was a match of attack. We came all out to attack because in the first half we were in the game” Edward said.
He explained that, he instructed his players not to play observative football.
He commended his players for coming back from a goal down to get the winning.
“Thanks God we are through to the semi- final” he said.
Also speaking, FC Ogoni Samuel Gbaneton who scored the two goals said he feels very happy for scoring two goals in the game.
“ After the first half our coach told us to keep the ball down” It was not by my power but by the grace of God” he explained.
According to him, word of encouragement by their coach gave them energy to win the match.
