Police Arrest Oil Bunkerers In Delta
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Special Task Force on Pipeline Vandalisation attached to the PPMC Depot, Warri last Wednesday arrested four suspects over alleged illegal bunkering in Jeddo Community in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
The IGP Task Force also intercepted a truckload of illegally refined diesel in the area.
It was learnt that the four arrested suspects specialise in the marketing of illegally refined AGO also known as diesel in the area.
The suspects arrested included, Hassan Mohammed (m), 36 years, Great FavourZaki (m) 42 years, RufiaAminu (m), 22 years and one Blessing Odogboro (m) 43 years.
They were arrested with a truckload of refined diesel at the popular Samzino filling station in the area.
It was also gathered that one of the arrested suspects, Blessing Odogboro drove a pick up vehicle with the inscription “Delta State Task Force on Petroleum Monitoring” to the crime scene.
The Commander, IGP Special Task Force on Pipeline Vandalisation, PPMC Depot, Warri, SP Mohammed El-Yakubu, restated his commitment to the on-going war against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
SP El-Yakubu warned the criminal elements behind the criminal act, especially within his area of coverage to desist as it would no longer be business as usual for them.
He said: “these recent arrest should serve as a warning signal to those perpetrating this criminal act to put an end to in this area as my Command is out to ensure that such is no longer allowed within my coverage area”.
The arrest of the four suspects is coming barely a week after the same team invaded two notorious illegal refineries camps in Oteghele and Ugbodede Communities both in Warri South Local Government Area and arrested nine persons alongside 15,000 litres of refined diesel.
